Coding Horror: Pimp My IDE
(Article via LarkWare, my .NET programming linklog of choice. For instance, I got to ReSharper through LarkWare.)
In college I started coding on a non-white background. Some time between then and now I forgot about this. Reading this article reminded me, and I immediately changed my work Visual Studio background color to off-white and it was like a great weight had been lifted. Seriously. Those few RGB ticks make all the difference.
I also stole the white-on-grey line numbers and black-on-green selection colors.
DEATH TO WHITE-ON-DARK-BLUE SELECTION COLORS!
(Oh, an on this thread about web background colors, I'd like to change my vote from "white" to "just slightly off white".)
